System of structures of multiple and simultaneous oppression and discrimination, which promote exclusion and prevent the development of people through the intersection of more than one form of discrimination. Intersectionality, or intersecting oppressions, refers to the interaction between two or more forms of discrimination that occur when different modalities and factors of discrimination intersect in the same person, such as the intersection of gender, race and ethnicity.
